Seacroft volunteers lead community celebration in The Rein Park.

LS14 Trust, Rein Revolution and Climate Action Seacroft are three community-led organisations with shared values of supporting local people to come together in delivering positive change and increasing local pride.

In June 2024, the three local organisations joined forces to deliver a festival event in The Rein Park, celebrating the community of Seacroft and the launch of the active travel hub.

Attended by more than 375 residents, the event featured live music, disco golf, Zumba, cheerleading, football sessions, play activities for young children, and a dog show.

Residents’ health and wellbeing was put front and centre at the event. Active Leeds provided BMX bikes for residents to try out, and asylum seekers living locally cooked a nutritious meal for all attending. Community nurses were in attendance, performing blood pressure checks, alongside stalls run by local charities providing wellbeing information, advice, and guidance.

This event, the first delivered in the park since the pandemic, inspired residents to consider other ways in which the park could bring the community together, with new ideas and plans being explored. Watch this space!
