‘Pages in the Park’ project sparks creative curiosity in Burley Park

Over the last year, more than 120 residents have contributed to Pages of the Park, an all-seasons community arts project bringing people together through creativity, nature, and shared experience.

Developed by Left Bank Leeds, in partnership with local artists Nat Hues and Delilah Sykes, the project invited residents to take part in free, hands-on workshops inspired by Burley Park and the stories it holds. Participants enjoyed coming together to slow down, gather natural materials, listen to the sounds around them, and take creative inspiration from the park in the changing seasons.

The project deepened Left Bank Leeds’ relationship both with Burley Park and the volunteers stewarding the space. A series of posters designed by the artists involved in the project are being designed, proceeds from the sale of which will support future community-led projects in the park. This will give the creative work produced through the project a life beyond the programme and connect more residents to the park.

“The project has helped us see the park not simply as a nearby green space, but as an extension of Left Bank: a place where we can bring people together, support creative activity, and connect our community work with the local environment.”
