Successful fun run returns to Wortley Recreation Ground

Highfield Methodist Church’s community Fun Run returned to Wortley Recreation Ground this summer, bringing together sixty runners of all ages, from toddling two-year-olds to more experienced 89-year-olds!

Families, neighbours, and church volunteers filled the park with energy and encouragement aplenty as participants made their way round the course, before heading back to the church to enjoy refreshments and collect their medals.

Children were thrilled to take part in the event and are already asking when the next run will be, while parents shared how much they value a fun, active event right on their doorstep. Church members also enjoyed welcoming newcomers to their community space and seeing the Fun Run continue to strengthen local connections.

With thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers who ensured the event ran smoothly and offered a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere for everyone involved.

“The children love taking part and are excited to do it again in the future.”

This activity was made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and with thanks to National Lottery Players. This activity was also generously supported by the Liz & Terry Bramall Foundation.
