Headphones on, feet moving: Bramley Baths brings silent Zumba to Stanningley Park
This Summer, Bramley Baths proved that exercise can be both energising and peaceful!
Wearing wireless headphones, participants could lose themselves in the music and rhythm, dancing freely without disturbing other park users. Families, friends, and individuals of all ages joined in, creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere full of smiles and laughter. It was fitness, fun, and freedom all rolled into one.
Our activity grants programme made this innovative idea possible, helping Bramley Baths explore new ways to get people active outdoors and deliver this six-week pilot project. The success of the sessions inspired the team to apply for funding to buy their own silent disco kit and to turn their regular boot class in Bramley Park into a Zumba class, so the fun can continue long after the project ends.
This exciting pilot project showed how creative outdoor fitness can bring people together, lift spirits, and make parks come alive with movement and music.
This activity was made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and with thanks to National Lottery Players. This activity was also generously supported by the Mayor of West Yorkshire’s Safer Communities Fund.
