Friends, families, and fans come together at Hunslet Moor match
“It brought the community together and gave us a chance to stay active.”
This summer, eighty neighbours, friends, and football lovers came together for another lively community football match in Hunslet Moor Park.
Supported by a community park activity grant, Cross Flatts FC delivered an event that gave residents the chance to be active, meet new people, and enjoy their local green space. Participants shared how much they valued the chance to be included and build a sense of belonging, while the team credited our funding with strengthening their ability to engage the wider community.
Cross Flatts FC’s community matches continue to demonstrate the power of sport in bringing people together and connecting them to their local park.
“It was great to have something positive to do and be a part of.”
This activity was made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and with thanks to National Lottery Players. This activity was also generously supported by the Liz & Terry Bramall Foundation.
