Community Blossom Events 2026
We’re delighted to be working with volunteer groups and local charities to bring uplifting blossom celebrations to communities across Leeds this spring. Mafwa Theatre – Harehills Park – 9th April, 10am – 12:30pm
Join Mafwa Theatre for a guided nature trail walk celebrating spring in Harehills Park. Participants will explore the blossom while creating drawings and stories inspired by nature, which will later help animate Roxby Community Garden.
Fruit Works & BITMO – Belle Isle Circus – 14th April, 1pm – 4pm
Join Fruit Works and BITMO for Belle Isle Blossom Day as part of their Easter holiday events programme. Meet at the BITMO Gate for refreshments before taking part in a range of nature-based activities, including a guided walk to Belle Isle Circus, a tree identification walk, and hands-on orchard maintenance.
Hyde Park Source – Kirkstall Abbey Gardens – 15th April, 12:30pm – 3pm
Join Hyde Park Source in the beautiful surroundings of Kirkstall Abbey Gardens for an afternoon celebrating spring blossom. Activities include a garden tour, a haiku poetry workshop, a herbal tea workshop, and a blossom-inspired mindful activity.
Friends of Drighlington Orchard – Drighlington Community Orchard – 18th April, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Join the Friends of Drighlington Orchard to celebrate blossom season with a lively afternoon for all ages. Enjoy blossom crafts, an orchard tour, storytelling, singing and dance, seed planting, beekeeping demonstrations, outdoor games and refreshments.
Halton in Bloom – Grove Road Recreation Ground – 18th April, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Join Halton in Bloom for a fun, family-friendly celebration of spring. Activities include a children’s entertainer, opportunities to plant vegetables, salads and herbs, a composting masterclass, microgreens sowing to take home, a gardeners’ question time session, plus homemade cakes and refreshments.
Friends of Horsforth Hall Park – Horsforth Hall Park – 19th April, 11am – 3pm
Join the Friends of Horsforth Hall Park for a joyful blossom celebration in the park. The day will include storytelling, live music, arts and crafts, picnics, carp kite displays with local schools, and the launch of the Horsforth Blossom Trail map.
Community Learning Partnerships – Nowell Mount Community Centre Garden – 25th April, 12pm – 2pm
Join Community Learning Partnerships for a relaxed afternoon celebrating blossom and nature. Activities include nature trails, seed planting, a quiet reading space, outdoor games, information stalls and refreshments.
Fruit Works & Armley Common Right Trust – Hill Top Moor Orchard – 26th April, 11am – 2pm
Join Fruit Works and Armley Common Right Trust for Hill Top Blossom Day and celebrate one year of the Hill Top Orchard! Bring a blanket and a picnic to enjoy among the trees, get to know your local tree varieties during a guided Tree ID walk, and help us make colourful labels for the orchard trees using recycled materials. Drinks, cakes and savoury snacks provided.
Love Farsley CIC – Farsley Community Orchard – 2nd May, 10am – 12pm
Join Love Farsley CIC for a spring celebration at Farsley Community Orchard. Enjoy locally baked cakes and refreshments, live music, storytelling, and take part in a fun Orchard Trail Scavenger Hunt.
Headingley Development Trust – Headingley Community Orchard – 26th April, 11am – 2:30pm
Join Headingley Development Trust for a relaxed blossom gathering at Headingley Community Orchard. Bring your own picnic and enjoy outdoor games, art activities, refreshments and live music from local acts.
Friends of Wigton Moor Woods – Wigton Moor Orchard – 26th April, 12pm – 2pm
Join the Friends of Wigton Moor Woods for a springtime celebration in the orchard. The event will include storytelling, guided walks, nature activities and refreshments.
Seacroft Community Forest Garden – Seacroft Community Forest Garden – 2nd May, time TBC
Join the volunteers behind the much-loved Seacroft Community Forest Garden to celebrate blossom season with a creative afternoon in nature. Activities include cyanotype printing, flower crown and wreath making, hapazome printing, wildflower seed bombs and planting, with refreshments available.
Meanwood Valley Urban Farm – MVUF Market Garden – 7th May, 5pm – 8pm
Join Meanwood Valley Urban Farm for an evening celebrating the changing seasons in their Market Garden. Enjoy a tour of the apple orchard, craft activities such as willow crown making, live musicians and a performance from the Leeds Morris Men
Roundhay Environmental Action Project – Soldier’s Field Orchard – 10th May, 12pm – 4pm
Join Roundhay Environmental Action Project for a vibrant community blossom celebration. Bring a picnic and enjoy craft activities, bird box making, nature activities, races, a plant swap, seed bombs, local musicians and a traditional blossom wassail.
Harehills Action Team – Harehills Park – Date and time TBC
Join Harehills Action Team in picnicking under the blossom in Harehills Park while enjoying a performance by a local South Asian dance company.
Self-Guided Blossom Trail – Beckett Street Cemetery – Throughout April
Visit Beckett Street Cemetery this spring and enjoy a peaceful self-guided trail among its beautiful pink and white blossom trees. Each tree will feature a blossom-inspired poem, epitaph or haiku to discover along the way.
