“My son has absolutely loved this day. It has been absolutely fantastic with lots of activities and meeting new friends, with the added bonus of lunch too and it all being free. We can’t thank the organisers and people who donate and fund this for our children enough. Thank you.”
The Champions Community Sport and Health CIC Open Day at Hunslet Moor Park was a huge success, attracting record numbers of local children, young people, and families for a free day of fun and activity. From the exciting assault course and lively local music to the sizzling BBQ and open sports sessions, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks to the support of this grant, Champions were able to grow their community reach from 506 to an incredible 676 members, proof of how much local appetite there is for positive, family-friendly activities.
The day not only showcased the brilliant facilities available at Hunslet Moor Park but also strengthened community connections, helping reduce isolation and create safe, active spaces for young people. It was a celebration of teamwork, energy, and local pride, showing exactly what happens when a community comes together to champion change.
