Beck Wood Regeneration Project Complete
A Love Leeds Parks grant funded the second stage of a regeneration project in Beck Wood, an area of woodland adjacent to the River Wharfe in Collingham.
Beck Wood proved to be an invaluable resource during lockdown, for regular and new visitors alike.
The regeneration project included the creation of a new seating area and the planting of a wildflower meadow. Additionally, unsafe trees were removed and information boards installed. The car park was also improved to facilitate the increased demand as more people discovered their local green spaces.

A Parish Councillor closely involved in the project said, “Greater usage and publicity has ensured many more people know of, and value, this area and it is now a firmly established amenity instead of being a local area rough woodland. We believe this will safeguard its future.”
